Director
After a successful career in the housebuilding industry as a sales director in the North West of England, Richard moved to Anglesey in 2005. Sandown Properties Ltd was formed to manage a number of properties for owners in Trearddur Bay and has gradually grown into the successful business it is today. Richard also bought and developed Blackthorn Farm caravan park and B&B in Trearddur Bay, which he ran with the help of his mum Audrey and chef brother Nigel. He now enjoys spending time at his apartment in Spain when he is not at home on Anglesey.
Lettings & Office Manager
Karen joined Sandown Properties Ltd in 2016. Having grown up on the Wirral, she spent a lot of time visiting Anglesey before moving here full time in 2003. Karen has helped develop the long-term lettings into a portfolio of over 60 managed properties, ensuring full compliance with Rent Smart Wales. Her role is to ensure that the process of renting out each property is smooth, efficient and fully legally compliant. When Karen is not working, she enjoys time with her three dogs and two cats.
Holiday Lettings Manager
Suzy joined the company in 2021 to manage the holiday lettings part of the business, and currently manages over 50 holiday properties. Suzy loves life, her family and coastal living - she describes this as the perfect job for someone who loves beautiful properties with character and interior design. She also loves cold water swimming and is a massive foodie. She has two crazy dogs: Mo the labradoodle and Tommy, a wire-haired dachshund.
Holiday Homes Administrator
Caroline joined Sandown Properties Ltd in 2022 as an administrator on the holiday lettings side of the business. Originally from Central London, Caroline moved to Holyhead in 1990 and has proudly called Anglesey home ever since. She has worked locally in a variety of customer service roles before retraining as a swimming teacher 18 years ago. Caroline loves swimming and walking in the mountains, and with a large family, she treasures spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lettings Administrator
Mandie joined the company in 2023 as administrator on the long-term lettings side of the business. Originally from the West Midlands, her career included working in insurance and mortgages, then at B&Q in human resources where she trained in various building roles. This came in handy when she refurbished four properties of her own. Mandie moved to Betws-y-Coed where she developed a holiday letting business with self-catering cottages for 10 years, before moving to Trearddur Bay in 2022 with her family. She has four grown-up children, four grandchildren, and a little herd of Black Nosed Valais sheep.
Financial Controller
Stacey joined the company in 2024 after being on maternity in her previous role. She originally worked with Richard at Blackthorn Farm and remained friends, continuing to work remotely on the accounts for Sandown Properties Ltd for many years. Stacey works part time focusing on all the company's accounting needs. Previously she worked for Holyhead Boatyard in their accounts department for over 10 years. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and reading her Kindle when time allows.
Logistics
Mark was born on Anglesey and grew up here. He deals with all the technology side of the business and sorts the computers when the team gets stuck. Mark sets up all new listings on the website, takes all the property photos and drone shots, and has been involved in the business since 2016. He set up the online booking system amongst other vital things. Mark enjoys cycling, walking and travelling.
